AFCON FINAL!!!!!!

                        WHO WILL RULE THE JUNGLE FOR THE NIGHT : ELEPHANTS OR THE EAGLES


Yes folks you got it right. AFCON final has started and it is The Nigerian Super Eagles against The Côte d'Ivoire Elephants. Which animal will reign supreme. A lot of banter has been ongoing on social media particularly X (formely known as Twitter) with Nigerians and Ivorians not being afraid to voice out their support for their respective countries. 

The anticipation for this match really rose up a notch after Nigeria managed to edge out South Africa in the semi finals just a day after Tyla, a South African Singer managed to beat Nigeria's Davido, Asake and Burna Boy to claim the Grammy for Best African Performance. Needless to say, a lot of Nigerians were outraged at the result of the GFrammy and some claimed foul play. When the Eagles beat the Bafana Bafana (The Boys), a lot of Nigerians felt vindicated and in their words, "avenged." Even going as far as mocking South Africans by pouring water on their bodies while singing the hit song that won them the Grammy, Water.

Today is the AFCON final and right now the score is 0-0 but tensions are high as ever and so is the banter.

The Super Eagles have scored a goal courtesy of their captain, William Troost-Ekong.

Côte d'Ivoire equalizes with a goal of their own by the second half as F.Kessie scores to make it 1-1

Again the Ivorians are on a roll with another goal this time from S.Haller and the Eagles are in real danger of losing this match and the cup with only six minutes to go

Seven minutes of extra time added. Seven minutes left for the Eagles to create a miracle goal and for the Ivorians to capture the cup. 

The Ivorians can practically taste victory now with two minutes remaining as the Eagles scramble for a last- minute goal

An the Ivorians are the African Champions. The Eagles, despite their impressive run unfortunately were unable to capture the cup. The journey for them ends here.
